Galentine's Day

What is up guys?

It's another Thursday and I am still here posting!!!! Somebody shout hallelujah!

It's a few days to valentine's day so I thought why not come on here and talk about...surprise...surprise...valentine's day...well, not exactly.

So, are you having a Val?
Muzzz be naizzzz

This year, I have decided to stop wanting a Valentine and instead BE  a valentine. Weird right? Well, it gets weirder.

I was a huge fan of the show Parks and Recreations starring Amy Poehler who plays the character Leslie Knope.

Leslie Knope pioneered a celebration called "Galentine's day". What is "Galentine's" day, you ask?

Well, I'll let her tell you herself

Happy Things!

As you may know, I don't say Happy New Month (except I've royally messed up and I need an ice breaker). It doesn't mean I don't wish that you have a happy new month though, it just means when I said Happy New Year, it was intended that I meant for you to have happiness the entire year and it was also intended that I did not intend to wish you piece meal happiness twelve times in the year.

Phew! Mouthful!

Ok. So Thursday Post Day!!!! (Don't worry, I will soon get tired of saying this "Thursday Post Day" something. I'm even already getting tired sef! )

I loved how January went for me. I had that joy unspeakable full of glory from the 2nd of January right down to the 31st (it is assumed that everyone had joy on the 1st, what with seeing a new year and all).
Considering the fact that I literally gave my joy away to the devil for almost all of last year, this was a big deal for me. I just loved God so much and He in turn lavished so much love on me and taught me so many things about myself, about life and living. I'm still learning and growing; messing up but not staying messed up and getting right back up, following and standing tall. That's been my year so far. I'm most grateful to see a new month with mines. I just can't deal with the insecurity, grim news and despair everywhere. I just keep praying for those that are lost and missing to be found. It is distressing.

So today, because I am not ignorant of the depressing news everywhere, I want to share some things that have made me happy in the past month in the hopes that they brighten somebody's day.

Please note: This is a looooong post. Sorry. But I promise you'll be entertained. If you are not, accost me. I won't even say anything back.

The Millennial Question.

*Kindly note that this is a long post...a mild rant, if you will.*

So it is Thursday Post day!!!!!! Yay!!!!

Hello guys and dolls.

How has your week been going?

I'm seriously trying to keep to my weekly blogging schedule. This is post 3 in January, so I can say it's looking good.

So...I wanted to show you guys a video I happened upon. It's about 15 minutes long but it is worth the time just to listen to the stuff this guy called Simon Sinek has to say.

Have you checked out the video?

What do you think? Be sure to leave a comment below if you agree or disagree or agree in part or vice versa.

I'll share my thoughts (for what they're worth).

Really?????

Hello lovairs (if I still have any out there).

How has the first two weeks in January been? They've been pretty slow for me but January is looking great and promising which makes me extremely optimistic for the rest of the year.

I've been on a bit of a journey which has led to some soul searching and introspection. I was reading a book on hearing from God and in one of the chapters, the book talks about the gifts we have and how they tie in to what we really should be doing with our lives. The book suggested using one of the myriad of internet resources available which group our talents and attributes into one place and suggest a suitable career path.

I was curious so I did mine. I'll share it with you. I used a resource called goodnet.org
I was asked a few questions about what I liked to do and what my reactions were in certain situations. The result? See for yourself...

A Fresh Start

Happy new year my loves.

May this year typify God's grace in our lives.

As you all can see, I did not manage to finish my 30 days posting. I got tired after a while. I read somewhere that if you blog about yourself mainly, it's a sure fire way to burn out the blog quickly...unless you are an extremely interesting person. Unfortunately, I blog about myself and my personal experiences mainly AND I am in no way extremely interesting.

What is one to do?

Anyways, to avoid the burnout, I will return to the original template of this blog and post once a week unless it is a heck of a week and I have plenty gist.

I feel very strongly about this year being a fresh start for me. It's not palpable but that phrase has just resonated with me. Last year was bleh...for lack of a better word. I literally coasted through in a haze of self pity, sadness and tears. I did not stop to smell the roses. I tried many times to snap out of it but, though I put on a brave face for all around me, it was tough. But in that year, God was faithful. He did amazing things for my family and I (even though my self pity made me completely ungrateful) He surrounded me with amazing people. I began my professional certification course. And I was in great health for most of the year. Only God can reward unfaithfulness with maximum faithfulness.

"To have fun in [my] journey through life and
learn from [my] mistakes"

So this year, I am excited to announce that I have a new lease on life.
